Why Self-Made Leaders Are The Best
The 2019 Leadership Conference is on top of my list of the most unforgettable leadership events right now. It is not the fanciest conference that I have attended, but it beats everything else when it comes to value. After all, the panel was filled with politicians and CEOs who I only saw on TV.
What’s the common denominator of the guest speakers, you may ask? Well, it’s the fact that they are all self-made leaders, and I cannot stop gushing about them even now.
Here are a few reasons why self-made leaders are the best.
They Know The Feeling Of Having Nothing
The feeling of not having anything fuels a self-made leader’s determination to keep the business going. They know what it’s like to live on food stamps or get kicked out of apartments. They know how to work for every penny to ensure that their kids will never experience such hardships. So, you can expect not to see them slacking off ever.
They Don’t Back Down From Challenges
What makes self-made bosses different from people who are born with a silver spoon is their journey to the top. The latter has always been there; their ancestors have already done most of the hard work for them. The former, on the other hand, has undoubtedly faced difficulties before getting there. Between the two, self-made leaders won’t cower from massive problems the company and may even handle them personally.
They Will Do Anything To Avoid Becoming Poor Again
Lastly, self-made leaders will do whatever is necessary to avoid working for money again. If they need to get investors or bank loans, it will be done in a heartbeat. In case the company needs reorganization, that’s what’s going to happen. They are indeed ambitious, and it is incredibly understandable.
It is ridiculous to think that life is fair; self-made leaders can genuinely attest to the opposite of that. Nonetheless, you should follow their lead and work hard for your dreams instead of waiting for others’ donations. Who knows, perhaps you can be successful and have a lot of money one day. Won’t that be amazing?
